A considered gift, in a few clues

Give them a book
that feels like them.

Good gifts say, “I see you.” Tell us a little about your friend and we’ll find one book to start with—plus a note you can send along.

Find their book

The thoughtful part is easy

Three little clues.
One book worth giving.

Every reader is different. A little context helps us find a match that feels less like a guess and more like you paid attention.

01—03 Tell us about your friend
A rough age is fine—just choose a number from 5 to 120.
Their work, study, or the role that fills their days.
Be specific: for example, detective mysteries, space exploration, or building better habits. Up to 500 characters

More than a title on a list

A gift with a little
more thought in it.

There’s no single book for every age or every profession. We bring your friend’s life stage, their everyday world, and the thing they care about into one considered recommendation.

Share just one interest or one challenge—something they love, are learning, or are working through. The result is one curated match, a reason it might suit them, and a note you can copy, edit, and make yours.

A curated match can’t know everything about a reader, and it isn’t guaranteed to be perfect. These suggestions are for gift inspiration only—not therapy or financial advice.

A few good questions

Before you
wrap it up.

Good gifting starts with a little care. Here’s how the finder handles yours.

How does the Book Gift Finder choose a book?

It searches 1,000 tagged books using your friend’s age, job, and interest. Interests come first. Every valid submission receives a book and gift note; when an exact topic match is unavailable, it labels the suggestion as a broader age- or role-based choice.

Is my friend’s information stored or shared?

The information you enter is used in your browser to make a recommendation. It is not sent to a server or stored by the Book Gift Finder.

Will the recommendation be a perfect fit?

A book match is a thoughtful starting point, not a guarantee. You know your friend best, so use the suggestion as a guide and make the gift note your own.

Can I use the finder for personal or financial problems?

The finder is for choosing a book gift. Its recommendations are not therapy, mental-health care, financial advice, or a substitute for professional guidance.

General listening ideas, not age-specific matches. Check content, edition, price, and availability before choosing.

Finder collection: 1,000 distinct tagged books. Reader-assigned topic metadata from Goodbooks-10k, supplemented by Book4U’s curated descriptions. Suggested ages are conservative filters, not certified content ratings.
