2 AM AFTER YOU Β· Story 11 of 100
The Password
I found out he cheated through Netflix. Not a text. Not a photo. A "Continue Watching" row.
Ethan and I had one rule: we never watch Season 2 without each other. Sacred. We'd been stuck on episode five for three weeks because he was "always tired."
Then one night I opened my profile and it said Episode 8. Eight. Someone had binged our show without me.
I told myself maybe he got bored. Maybe he watched it at the gym. (He doesn't go to the gym.) So I checked the account activity. Device: iPad. Last active: 2:14 AM. A city he told me he'd never been to.
I sent him the screenshot. He went quiet for an hour, then wrote, "It's not what it looks like," which is what everyone says when it's exactly what it looks like.
Her name was Chloe. He'd given her MY login. The account I paid Β£10.99 a month for. She even had her own little profile with a cat avatar.
I laughed. Actually laughed. I was funding the girl he cheated with to watch our show.
So I texted him "we're done" and did the only petty thing available. Signed out of all devices. Changed the password to something unforgivable.
Twenty minutes later, my phone lit up.
"hey my Netflix isn't working."
Not "I'm sorry." Not "please, can we talk." Not even "I miss you."
He didn't miss me.
He missed the subscription.
