2 AM AFTER YOU Β· Story 3 of 100
The Fake Account
I thought he ghosted me. Then I saw who was viewing my stories every night.
His name was Jake. We had that situationship where you don't call it anything, but you text good morning and he knows how I take my coffee. No label. "Why ruin a good thing?" he said.
Then one Friday, he just vanished. No fight. No reason. My texts sat there, blue and lonely. I checked his Instagram, nothing. Last seen, a week ago. I told myself he'd lost his phone, got arrested, joined a monastery. Anything but the truth.
So I did what any healthy girl does at 2 AM. I posted a story. Me, laughing, golden hour, looking unbothered. Fake it till you make it.
Then I saw the viewers list. Some account called "k_wanderer_99." No profile pic. Zero posts. Following 3 people.
I know it was him. Because that account watched my story within a minute. Every story. Every night. For weeks.
He didn't lose interest. He didn't lose his phone. He just decided I was something to watch instead of someone to love.
So now I post a story every night. Not for me. For him.
Because if he's going to watch me heal from a distance, he's going to watch me glow.
I haven't blocked him yet. Not because I'm weak. Because I like knowing he can't look away.
I just wish he'd say hello.
