Reels Export Checklist: Keep Your Breakup Text Sharp after Upload

· 3-minute read

Readable text in the editor can become blurry or awkwardly cropped after upload. A final export check protects the work you put into a breakup affirmation. Treat the exported video and the platform preview as separate things to inspect.

Make the idea useful

Use a vertical working canvas, sufficient resolution, and a clean video master. Avoid repeatedly downloading and re-exporting the same compressed file. Instagram's current help guidance lists a minimum of 720-pixel resolution and 30 FPS; a 1080 × 1920, 30 FPS working export is a practical starting choice for this kind of text design.

Your practical workflow

  1. Export the finished sequence as a video file and reopen it. Check the sharpness of small punctuation and the final card.
  2. Upload a draft and examine the platform preview. Move important words if interface overlays or a cover crop obscure them.
  3. Save the editable source and clean master separately. If the first upload is soft, troubleshoot compression and upload quality rather than adding heavier effects.

A text-only storyboard to try

Use the sample as your opening, splitting it across cards if needed. These supporting cards show one way to develop the idea; adapt the details to your own message.

  1. Supporting card 1The opening must remain readable after export.
  2. Supporting card 2The explanation needs room above the interface controls.
  3. Supporting card 3The last line deserves the same quality check.

A caption to try

A clear affirmation needs a clear export. Check the final video, not only the page where you designed it.

A mistake to avoid

Do not assume a high-resolution setting fixes an unreadable layout. Tiny text is still tiny after export, and multiple compressed copies may lose clarity.

Should I export one version for every platform?

A clean vertical master is useful, but preview it separately on each platform. Interface placement and cover crops can differ even when the video dimensions are the same.

Before you publish

Start with a vertical 1080 × 1920 canvas as a practical working format, not a promise of reach. Export a clean video and preview it on your phone. Instagram's published guidance specifies at least 720-pixel resolution and 30 FPS. Keep text away from interface overlays and use your own or properly licensed footage.

Watch the complete Reel on a phone with sound off. Check that the opening gets a clear payoff, every card stays readable, and the caption adds context. Use only media you own or have permission to use. A hook is a starting point; reach and engagement are not guaranteed.
